The K-Zone: community sentence
Under current Sentencing legislation, a criminal
conviction may attract a fine (see: Finesentencing),
a CustodialSentence, or a community sentence.
Community sentences are generally felt to be suitable for
offences less serious than those for
which imprisonment is appropriate. Currently, the following
community sentences are recognized.
-
probation
-
community service
-
combination order (i.e., a combination of the above)
-
action plan order
-
drug testing and treatment order
-
attendance order
-
supervision order
-
curfew
