Software development

Last modified: Fri Aug 3 07:55:16 2007

This section of my site contains articles on software development, particularly in Java. There isn't much here at the moment, as I've recently purged the really old articles -- anything earlier than 2002 has done, as have some things earlier than 2003. Software development is too fast-moving for anything more than 1-2 years old to have much relevance; I think leaving these articles up was harming more people than it helped.
In fact, I haven't removed the Web pages from the server, so they will still show up in search engines for the time being. However, I've removed them from the site navigation to reduce the risk of people stumbling across them by accident.
If time permits (ha!) I may be able to revise some of these old articles, where the technology itself is still interesting.
So, in short, if you've come here looking for articles on iPlanet Application Server 6.x, Sun JMQ, Windows Java tools, or elementary Java programming -- sorry, they're not here anymore. In addition, most of the jBoss documents have gone, pending updating for more recent jBoss versions. If you're looking for something specific, and believe it used to be on the site, please contact me by e-mail and I will try to dig it out.
Please note also that there are specific articles on developing for Linux in my Linux section.
