Garden railways

Last modified: Fri Aug 3 08:02:53 2007

A simple garden railway

You can construct a simple, but workable, OO-scale garden railway in a morning; here's how.

A more ambitious garden railway

This was our first G-scale project -- a small (relatively speaking) G-scale garden railway. This was quite a challenge, given the size of our garden.

Garden railway mark III

Since moving house, we have started work on garden railway mark III. We have a bit more room, but not an enormous amount. Our main challenge is coping with the fact that the whole garden has an irregular slope of about 1:5.

Garden railway mark IV

After fighting a two-year losing battle with the weeds, I decided to start all over again, with the railway mounted on a solid wooden deck 18-24 inches above the ground. Read about it here.
