The real man's gardening tools

Last modified: Fri Aug 3 07:56:24 2007

Forget the trowel and secateurs -- the real man does his gardening with these heavy-duty, petrol-powered monsters. Put a step wrong with one of these beauties, and you'll be fit for nothing but compost. These articles gives some basic advice on using this kind of apparatus safely, and some hints on how to do a reasonable job with them. Naturally, they are no substitute for proper training, or reading the manual, and I'm not for a moment condoning a gung-ho, hope-for-the-best attitude to dangerous machinery. These articles are based on my own experiences over the last few years, maintaining my ten-acre backyard, and I don't claim any particular expertise. But I've still got all my limbs, which must count for something.
