Diplock court

A Crown Court convened with no jury, named after Lord Diplock who championed the idea. The rational for the use of such courts is that there are some criminal cases in which no jury will serve reliably, because the likelihood of intimidation is too high. They have generally been used only in Northern Ireland, for offences related to terrorism.
